Commission a series of satirical propaganda with the slogan: Yesterday I posted the following tweets... Been a while since I did one of these. I still have like 20+ to do, including several I owe people for various reasons. :P I'm zippyfast at art when I'm in the mood for it, but I'm slow otherwise. Leytonstone has, at last, joined the rest of the Northern hemisphere and experienced a snowfall. Random thought of the day: there ought to be a Weird Al parody of Bjork with robots feeding each other in a provocative manner, titled "All Is Full Of Nuts". Okay, here's a meme for you: I’m always pleased when folks write (or Twitter) showing me how they’re enjoying their Wondermark tangibles, or (especially) how the folks they’ve gifted them to are enjoying them! This comes courtesy of Jeff, who has very handsomely framed one of my prints for his brother William:
I am not sure if William is cosplaying as the character in the comic or if I simply channeled him as I made it. (Minor note: this is an older style of comic print; the ones I offer now are somewhat larger and come unsigned.) Twitter’s also great for getting these sorts of notifications — here are some other pics folks have slung my way recently (click each for their source): A longtime fan! UHH…KABAPP (running out of onomatopoeias here) Lastly, this picture of “Bones” comes from Erin, a medical librarian at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center (and recipient of a Thanksgiving Project book), proving that there is in fact a place for my personal unlicensed-and-highly-specious brand of medicine in today’s medical establishment:
Finally, Davey has someone to play with. Thanks for the pics, everyone! And if you have (or can take) pictures of yourself or others sporting any manner of Wondermark accoutrement, please send them to pics[at]topatoco.com — we love seeing that stuff, and it helps future customers see what the goods actually look like on living, breathing, flesh-and-blood human beings! (Nothing personal, there, Bones.) There is chaos and thunder in my every step and lightning, hotter than the sun, flashes behind my eyes. Animal fear sloughs off my skin, crinkling like foil wrap. Rising up like a climbing vine, like an epiphyte. Eyeslits narrow and teeth glimmer in the dark. Eager for fun, ze wears a smile. Transmutating from hardware to elseware, from the labyrinth to the still point, from logic gates to the self-oscillating filter. Lattice in wonderland. Yesterday I posted the following tweets... But I need somewhere to put them. I'm looking for a non-sleeping share in a room that I can prep and serve decadent gourmet meals out of. I need table and counter space, plus enough floor for a large cooler. Host this in your room on site, and you and yours get fed all weekend. A thank you for Remember kids, always tag your photos on flickr: Oh, man. I still haven't gotten around to reading any Hofstadter, but this cheered me up a lot for some reason. I LOVE fake people. n.n Mini vacations are awesome. Work is less awesome, but money is kind of good to have. Thank you to everyone who worked in comms this past quarter! Stats from December: Active Volunteer count (volunteers who touched the board 5 times): Please tell me to what degree I need to be panicking at this moment! :x I know, usually people are busy at the holidays, but usually that's counterbalanced by people who have more free time at the holidays. As I was on vacation for most of this period (my TMJ is much much better with the new splint, thanks! :) ), I didn't have, as I usually do, an intuitive feel on what the morale atmosphere was like, and I don't want to guess because my guesses about how things were have been embarrassingly wrong several times already today, and I've only been "back" for about 4 hours. :-p Comments are screened by default because I need you to be as honest as possible; tell me if you would like the comment unscreened. And please speak only for yourself: broad generalizations such as "lots of people didn't do support because of $blah" doesn't help me because I don't know who you're talking about and therefore can't verify if it's true or just amplified rumors. On this post, I'm interested in hearing from the current crop of support volunteers, not the ones who have moved on to other things or never volunteered to begin with. Also, I'm not finished catching up with my vacation-email yet, and I see a few of you did email me related to support activity, so I will see those too and answer them as soon as I can. And if this is indeed just a holiday blip, there is no guilt allowed here! By all means, reassure me that you avoided Support because you were spending time with your loved ones! That's a very important thing for you to do. :-) As far as "goal for the week" I'm looking at this stat from today's email: Technical Support: 570 came in this week, 559 last week, representing a +1% change. 137 of the 325 currently open requests are new this week (57% are from previous weeks). Requests this week waited for an average of 57 hours for responses. Let's focus this week on those 57% from previous weeks, and work together to clean out the December backlog. Please join us in #lj_support for degreening company this week! I'll do my best to get caught up as quickly as I can, then we can all get bugs filed, fixed, and out the door throughout the next month. And thank you to all of you who kept the wheels turning while I was away. :-) Rasserfrassinbrokenheatingagainwhatthehe IMHO, the Best Post Evar on Where can I find a woman who'll make a deal with me like this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU2EtLHV Enjoyed the movie because it captured the ludicrously antisocial and eccentric nature of Holmes and had him punch people with SCIENCE. Arrived in Tokyo last night. I guess I forgot that this place is so awesome. Stupid crap I've said today:
Yesterday I posted the following tweets... Between digging through old files and playing with the Wayback Machine, I've managed to dig up code and designs for old versions of my Pokédex. Now the mundane part of the New Year is really upon me, (work tomorrow), I am looking at ways to make sure that I really *do* an hour of voice practice every day.
If anyone is curious about the process for these story pages, I have produced some time-lapses to satisfy your questioning mind. Part 1 - The Analogue Part Part 2 - The Digital Part A friend of mine is offering bespoke musical arrangments over on her website Vamp Till Ready. She asked me to pass it arround. Protests against the revocation of the Pokemorph Island chapter of the Pokemon Contest League were set up and run on main street. Okay then! Besides it now being 2038, there have been some big changes in my life. First off, Rocket will not be happy with me and Arch when they finally discover what we did; bargained with PIA for amnesty and protection in exchange for info. Well Arch, being the crazy bird that he is, one upped the cops and gave them his father, a recently battered (G'DAMN that was fun!) Elite Honchkrow by the name of Daemon. Bastard is lucky he was our bargaining chip; he dented my back armor, bruised my kidney, and likely broke a rib or two. I just hope to Arceus that the cops can prevent him from getting away. We'll all be royally screwed if he manages to get back to Rocket. Also, I'm SO looking forward to seeing Millie! Nevermind that it'll be through a jail cell. But hey, at least it's voluntary imprisonment. Anyways, I look forward to my new life with Mills and possibly, if I play my cards right, with the PIA! When: Tuesday, January 5, 9 PM EST, 6 PM PST. Top 20 Entries Touches in 2009 It's a new ice age! Man, these past days have been terribly cold, and there's LOTS AND LOTS OF SNOW! About 30 cm, everywhere! Our cars are completely snowed under, and it's useless to wipe it all away, since it keeps snowing every night. Not to mention it's way below freezing point. ...everyone'll think it was inspired by TEOT, won't they? Predictably, All I've drawn so far this year is pokemorphs. I've been inking real commissions, though, so that's good... Anyway, here they are ( behind the cut! ) Stupid crap I've said today:
